Meet the Girl
I’m a small town girl with a love of a lot of things and a desire to be better at all of them. I’m more sarcastic than I should be and only patient with horses.
Hi! I’m Stephanie. I live in Wyoming, where I grew up. I actually grew up on a cattle and horse ranch in northern Wyoming, but now I live in Laramie, where the University of Wyoming is located. My husband J and I have three horses, a dog, and some cats – a couple of barn cats and one retired, deaf, barn cat who lives inside now. The horses are Deets, Sluggo, and Flash. The dog is an Australian Shepherd named Bindi. The barn cats are BC (for Black Cat) and Fluffy (we’re all about original and witty names around here). The retired barn cat/house cat is Socks (yeah, you guessed it – she has 4 white socks). We don’t have cows or sheep or goats because you have to draw the line somewhere. We have 2 acres, which is perfect for us.
I am into cooking and baking, and have recently really gone off the deep end of sourdough. I’m getting it figured out and love to share my trials and successes. My husband is actually a better cook than I am, but we have fun trying new recipes and we do a lot with wild game meat.
I’m an avid knitter when the weather is cold and slow down considerably in the summer months. Summer is spent riding. Deets is my main riding horse and I ride dressage. I grew up working cows and cowboying, but I got into dressage about 10 years ago and find it fascinating and challenging. I cook for a hunting outfitter every fall and can’t wait to share those stories with you!
